With peering relationships at the London Internet Exchange (LINX) and IX Manchester, dark-fiber connectivity to multiple providers, and direct network connections to data centers throughout the UK, the facility offers London dedicated server hosting clients fast, reliable, redundant connections throughout the UK and Europe.
N + N Power
The data center is powered by a dedicated substation connected to the municipal supply. All server racks are connected to a redundant N + N uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system backed up by N + 1 diesel generators with enough fuel to run the data center for one week.
In practical terms, this means power interruptions are unlikely in the extreme. London has a highly reliable power network. Blackouts are rare and brownouts even rarer. But, if an outage occurs, the data center will continue to operate and server power won’t be interrupted.
Power from the UK’s National Grid enters the building and is fed through uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Each server rack is supplied via two independent power distribution units on separate UPS banks. Servers will remain unaffected even if an entire bank of power supplies fails.
In the unlikely event of an outage, the UPS system can power all servers and air conditioning units until the generator takes over.
Security
As a primary hosting location for fintech businesses and others with sensitive data, our London location takes security very seriously. An 8-foot fence surrounds the building and an electronic gate controls access to the car park. Security teams and electronic security measures monitor visitors and track their activity. Internal and external security cameras cover the building. Biometric scanners with facial recognition protect critical security areas, and accredited security guards patrol around the clock.
The data center’s security systems exceed the requirements of security standards that include PCI-DSS and ISO27001, as well as regulations from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and other UK standards bodies.
